Stockholm Open presents its best line-up in decades
Star-studded cut off to this years tournament
The registration list for the Stockholm Open, to take place November 6-13 at The Royal Tennis Hall, is now closed and the line-up indicates that the tournament will have one of the best starting fields ever. Among the already presented top player and Olympic winner Alexander Zverev, ten-ranked Norwegian Casper Ruud and Denis Shapovalov, reigning Stockholm Open champion, six more top 20 players are now added.
This year's star-studded cut off is one of the best line-ups in the over 50 years history of Stockholm Opens with as many as nine players ranked in the top 20. A great lineup if you ask me, says Thomas Enqvist, Tournament Director for the Stockholm Open.
Registered players on the cut-off list range from fourth-ranked German Olympic champion Alexander Zverev to Alexander Bublik from Kazakhstan, ranked 37 in the world. Among the new names are also Hubert Hurkacz (ranked 12), Diego Schwartzman (ranked 15), Cristian Garin (ranked 17), Gael Monfils (ranked 18) and this year's youngest Stockholm Open players so far, 20-year-old Jannik Sinner *, number 14 in the world, and 21-year-old Canadian Felix Auger-Aliassime *, ranked 11th.
Stockholm Open is the world's oldest indoor tournament on the ATP tour, established in 1969, and is played according to tradition at The Royal Tennis Hall in Stockholm. The tournament has over the years been a player favorite, which this year’s line-up so far also indicates.
Since the restrictions were eased for events in Sweden, all tickets are now available for this year's tournament on 6-13 November. Tickets can be purchased through tickster.com.
* Jannik Sinner and Felix Auger-Aliassime participate in the Stockholm Open subject to qualification for the Nitto ATP finals in Turin..
